What I hold in my hands may be one of the most ingenious inventions EVER!
Ladies and gentlemen,,,,
the bag of air.
I don't know who thought up the brilliant idea to put plastic around air and sell it, but kudos to that person. They are probably very proud of themselves.
How did it happen? What was that first conversation like? I am sure that there is some extremely funny comedic potential there that I can't quite conjur up. Maybe Lowery can. Or Cook. Or Bagby.
Seriously, can there be a more brilliant way to make money than selling air?
We've got bottled water? We have captured light and can spread it around. What about darkness? How could we sell darkness? What could that be used for?
Here's your ad campaign: "Air...6 billion people can't be wrong."

Ummmm, you're a preacher, you are supposed to be selling light, not darkness. And they are going to let you teach in Bible college!!! Geez!!!!!

I love how your all, "I'm not the funny one, Lowery? Cook? Bagby?"
selling darkness made me laugh out loud.

I have been out of the Blogosphere (once again ;-), due to various factors... I was looking through the Springfield-area blogs today; I have found that now, it seems that several UIS CSF bloggers have discovered WordPress, and there are some new blogs... A few of them are now podcasting also. (Things are moving so fast... I wish there was more time to catch up - though that's another story!)
You probably were aware of WordPress awhile back, and Movable Type - considering that you've been using TypePad. I was just going to post a comment here, saying that I didn't know if I had been back, since you moved from Blogger to here - but I was remembering earlier today, how I might have posted a comment that this TypePad blog; I know I posted a comment here:
http://shanwentz.blogspot.com/2006/12/preschool-christmas-party.html
- and we discussed the past, and the Blogosphere, when we got to speak in person. (I was like, "John Wentz is here?!", when your name was mentioned, right before we broke for the meal, at that event.)
I didn't realize, until I started typing this entry, that your blog was now elsewhere - I had seen your comment above, but I was thinking that that was a reference to having migrated to this location. (I then realized you said wordpress, and that this is TypePad! ;-)
I know with WordPress, there are two versions - one which you don't have to install anything (like Blogger), and the other, in which you do, and it's quite complicated. Fortunately, when I started a new blog last fall, Jeremy Clover [www.StoutRepublican.com] did the work of installing and setting up, for me. [Unfortunately, I have hardly ever gotten to use that blog!! :-( ] - despite the fact that I purchased a webhosting package for it [the UIS web space was not compatible], and am therefore paying GoDaddy.
Because of a job that I might be getting [I should find out, next week], I may have the opportunity to start a new 'road blog' (or at least, a field blog... if I'm allowed)... So I can hopefully use the web space then.
I will update my blogroll listing, to your new location (I hope I got around to changing it from .blogspot to here! - I'm sorry if that was never done...). I am glad that things seem to be going better for you and yours - Are you living and going to church back here in Springfield now?
I need prayer on some things [the most immediate of which is that job issue, but other important matters as well]. Is that AIM and e-mail address, listed in the sidebar here, still valid?
Please keep up the great work, in all that you are doing - God Bless!!
